Jasper Wildlife and Sightseeing Tour with Maligne Lake Hike

6.Jasper Wildlife and Sightseeing Tour with Maligne Lake Hike

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 216 reviews · 6 hours (approx.) · from $81

Spend about six hours exploring Jasper’s Maligne Valley by minibus with guides such as Sam, Catherine, Josh, or Ross. Expect wildlife spotting, fire ecology, Medicine Lake’s limestone cliffs, and a gentle 2 to 3 km hike beside Maligne Lake. Bring lunch or buy it at the café.

“We had an excellent experience with Catherine our tour guide. Spotting Wildlife is always a crapshoot, but we were able to see a couple of bald eagles, some ospreys and chicks, two female and one juvenile moose, and a group of bighorn sheep ranging from adult female to a couple of juveniles. But, you really never know if you're going to see anything. More importantly, Catherine was an excellent guide and she provided excellent commentary during the tour. Our hike around the Lake was pretty easy, but nonetheless, a good time. We found the views to be stunning, and we'd totally recommend this tour.”

“I did the Larch Valley Hike and it was fantastic! Super well organised, pick up and drop off was on time, and the packed lunch was great. But our two guides Evie and Jade (hope I got their names right!) really elevated the experience - they were friendly, experienced hikers and made the whole group feel very safe and welcome. I was also lucky enough to have a great tour group, which made for great conversation! This is my second Discover Banff tour and I will always recommend this company if you’re looking for a great day out in Banff.”

It helps to bring lunch and some water. For inexperienced hikers, it will feel difficult to hike the last part but worth it once you reach the 3rd Lake!! Bug spray is a must!! Waterproof shoes helps and long socks a must to prevent bug bites. Above all don't forget to have fun and take in the spectacular view!!!”
